Description
The main topic of this year’s Pivka House of Culture project was equivalent exchange between employers and employees, which the participants studied through the folk tale of Martin Krpan, his negotiations with the Emperor and Empress for suitable payment for saving the Empire from the warrior Brdaus. The artists discussed the topic on an artistic level through the use of the woodcut technique, which represents the process of commodity production in the project, the two colours the relationship between employer and employee, and the two printing procedures the strategies of pressure and negotiations in the process of reaching an equivalent exchange.
