Nevena Aleksovski (1984) graduated in Painting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2008, receiving an M.A. in Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana in 2014. She is active in the fields of drawing, painting, illustration and art zines. Her art zine received the main prize at the ZINE VITRINE dvatwozwei open call in 2016. She has held several solo exhibitions (Kino Šiška, P74/Kapsula, Pivka House of Culture, Celje Art Salon, Ravnikar Gallery Space, DobraVaga, Layer House) and participated in various group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad (MGLC Ljubljana; Vodnik Homestead; Alkatraz Gallery; Center for Contemporary Arts Celje; 36 Mountains, Zagreb; ISBN books + gallery, Budapest; Stiege 13, Vienna). She is also active as a pedagogue at the ŠKUC and Alkatraz galleries in Ljubljana. She is a co-organiser of the Reciklart recycling and DIY culture art festival, and illustrated poet Ana Makuc’s poetry collection Roland Barthes’s Lover, which received the Veronika Award in 2016. She lives and works in Ljubljana.
