Marko Šajn (1990) found his true inspiration for art only after leaving the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana where he studied painting and graphics. He explores various colour combinations and visual effects that they cause in his works. Using the brush to combine the graphical flatness with the contrasts of colours to create interesting overlays. He rediscovered the used screen printing screens as an ideal medium to create upon. Their transparency allows him to combine the application of paint from both sides of the screen, changing the strict painting approach to a more graphical one again. Besides painting and graphics he’s also interested in fanzines and writing. The main source of inspiration for Marko are music, books and psychedelic films. His first solo exhibition was in 2015, in Tovarna Rog.
