Helena Tahir (1992) is a postgraduate student of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana. In 2015, she participated in a study exchange at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto, graduating with honours from the Department of Painting and Printmaking at ALUO in September that same year. She is interested mainly in graphic arts, painting, drawing and photography. Her work deals with the thinking individual, who is seeking reason in an illogical world, light in darkness and reality in dreams and fantasy. In late May 2016, she became the first resident of the Open Studio at the DobraVaga Gallery, where she was later also featured independently as part of the Artist Per Month programme. She has participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions. In late October 2016, she was part of the international student exhibition Transformation of Image at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb. She was featured in Art Reveal Magazine, where her works and interviews received a great response from the international public. She is currently studying at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Germany.
