Description
Jure Brglez’ illustrations are created digitally, with the author perfecting the use of various textures to a point where the viewer can lose themselves boundlessly in the details and atmosphere of the pieces, which often appear dreamlike or even alien. Zeleni Jurij is a life-death-rebirth pagan Slavic deity, believed to be (re)born and killed every year, since his life was tied to the vegetative cycle of the cereals. As a mythical metaphor the account can allude to the rejuvenation of the entire cosmos.
