Nastja Mezek (1991) is studying Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. She was a resident at the DobraVaga Gallery Open Studio from March to May 2017 and was later featured there with a solo exhibition in the Artist per Month programme and as part of the Fresh Fish commercial exhibitions. In cooperation with the DobraVaga Gallery and Plečnik House, she was also featured in the Jože exhibition of artistic prints. In addition, she has participated in the international group exhibition of Eastern European academies Transform in Bucharest, Fotopub Festival, the Biennial of Independent Illustration, and the AIR4 exhibitions at Ravnikar Gallery Space. She also participates in various cultural festivals, including the Animateka Festival, as well as working as a painter and scenographer for various theatre plays. She is active in painting, drawing, illustration and scenography. Her work is most inspired by the entry of the digital into our everyday. Before working, she often considers whether she should draw something or make serious art.
