Sai Pan (1992) is a 4th year Visual Communication student at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. While studying at the Secondary School of Design and Photography, he won 2nd place in the “Ljubljana through the eyes of a secondary-school student” photo contest and made the selection in the MAKfest photo contest. In 2009 and 2010, he interned at two advertising agencies (Aanima, LUNA/TBWA). Alongside his studies, he dedicated a lot of his time to the student area at the academy, the so-called Kurilnica. He showed initiative and was very active in reviving the space. With a larger group of students, he organized 7 independent exhibitions there in 2013-2014, and it was also where his first solo exhibition was held. During his studies, he actively participated in the organization and visualization of events (exhibitions, parties, roundtables) that were organized within the context of the educational institution. As of 2008, he has actively participated in various projects of the Ana Monro Theatre, mainly taking care of the stage sets and props (the Mati Korajža play, Ana Desetnica, various street performances). In 2013, he displayed his work in the Silent Action group exhibition and the Many Happy Returns solo exhibition at Kurilnica, as well as in the Understanding Photography group exhibition at the Mikado Gallery and the Fake Gallery Club group exhibition in Club K4. He took part in the group exhibition in the Pop-up Home in 2014. A year later, he participated in the Common Space exhibition at the Kortil Gallery in Rijeka, Croatia, as well as the V. Independent Biennial.
