Nika Ham (1991) has a BA in painting and is currently a postgraduate student at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. In 2013/2014, she studied at the Winchester School of Art in Great Britain. During her studies, she participated in various projects supported by the City of Ljubljana, including the New Year’s downtown decorations and the painting school on Stritarjeva ulica street. She has participated in several group exhibitions (Med seboj različni at the MIK Ljubljana Gallery, Manifesto at the University of Southampton, Living Archive at the Museum of Transitory Art), as well as held solo exhibitions (at the Nove Poljane apothecary, at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana, Blueberry Day in the Borovnica municipality). She has also taken part in a live painting performance at a show in the Križanke theatre (Jesus Christ Superstar) and for the release of Miss Black Monroe’s book Ameriška perverzija in the Atrium of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. She has organized a drawing school for children in Borovnica, auctioned her work off as part of the Rotary Club charity auction in Hotel Lev, and handled the visual image of the County Cunty event at Club Tiffany. Her work deals primarily with political topics and current social situations. Her painting also reflects an interest in the human figure and portraits, combined with abstract elements. She is a big fan of digital art, which provides her with the required breadth.
